By the time this question gets round to mentioning (in a rather clumsy way) that we're looking for the name of a fourth musical instrument, we're in danger of losing the will to live.
A better way of wording it would surely have been, "Which musical instrument gives its (four–letter) name to the family (associated with European traditional folk music) that also includes the bouzouki, mandola and mandolin?
